this is Nanu from the Mthethwas and the Mabasos. I’m a Music Writer from South Africa, and I want you to know me as The Poet Laureate of Mzansi Music.

I’ve been professionally writing about music since 2018 (8 years). But the work began before I could even spell the word work.

“You know all of this music,” my mother MaMthethwa said when I was in grade 3, “but if I were to ask you anything about your school work, dololo!”  

Names. Dates. History. It was all etched in my head. Documenting music was my destiny, and the industry has given me many signs.

I have finally designed my solo project, Nanu Music Writer. This is where I dig into the art of music writing, with the aim of targeting musicians and music entrepreneurs as clients.
